Priority areas

Sexual trauma survivors

Significantly underserved relative to scale; the single most compelling priority of this initiative

Substance use and addiction

Addiction and co-occurring conditions where the evidence base is strong

End of life care

Existential distress and end-of-life anxiety, where psychedelic-assisted care has demonstrated meaningful impact

Depression

A larger burden than PTSD alone, and historically underweighted in the field

LGBTQ+

Trauma connected to coming out and family rejection

Other underserved populations

Backing organizations whose work expands access where field infrastructure has not kept pace with need

Our approach
1

Proactive, not reactive

We identify candidates through research and expert referrals. We are not running an open call for proposals.

2

Catalytic, not incremental

We seek asymmetric upside: funding organizations and ideas that could not otherwise get traction, not adding to already-crowded areas.

3

Leverage over volume

We will make fewer, larger grants, and where possible favor unlocking additional funding through matching commitments.

4

Light on process, serious about outcomes

Our funding application is not a heavy lift, and we respond rapidly.

About

Transcend PBC is the philanthropic vehicle of the Transcend Public Benefit Corporation. The initiative is deploying approximately $20 million over twelve months, informed by conversations with field leaders including the Psychedelic Science Funders Collaborative (PSFC). Grants typically range from $500K to $1M, with select larger commitments for exceptional opportunities, structured for organizations in underserved areas of the field where catalytic capital can make a decisive difference.
